Forex - Trading the American or US Session
If you haven't checked out my previous articles on trading the Asian session or the European (London) session, feel free to read them first but it doesn't quite matter in which order you take a look.
As mentioned before (if you've read my Asian / European articles), you'll know that there are primarily 3 trading sessions in any typical currency trading day and that they are the Asian session, European session and the U.S session (in chronological order).
Of these, the range and trading volume of the Asian session will tend to be the mildest.
Coming back to U.S session, by the time it gets underway, it overlaps the U.K (or European session) for a couple of hours. That's when there's lots and lots of liquidity (or big money trading hands if you would).
U.S sessions typically start with news releases such as the U.S home sales, trade balances (or deficit rather), CPI, PPI and so on and so forth. Of these, the most major news release will occur on the 1st friday of each month. This news release is called the nonfarm payroll or the NFP. The moment the number gets released, the market typically moves at least 50 pips within the first 5 mins.
It's quite a show actually.
The U.S session then tends to get a bit quieter towards the lunch hour that's around 12pm EST (or DST). It will tend pick up again after lunch only to fizzle out during the last 1-2 hours of trading or banking times. By the time the U.S session ends, it won't be another 2 hours before the Asian session gets underway again.

Fantasy Football Advice?
I've just done my fantasy football draft in a 12 team league and in my opinion I've got a pretty balanced team. Do you see major weaknesses in my team that need to be adressed quickly, or should I leave my team as is for now? Are than any players I should trade?
Here's my team:
QB- Donovan McNabb, PHI
RB - Marion Barber, DAL
RB- Ryan Grant, GB
WR- Braylon Edwards, CLE
WR- Brandon Marshall, DEN
WR- Patrick Crayton, DAL
TE- Heath Miller, PIT
K-Nate Kaeding, SD
DST- New England
Reserves:
QB- David Garrard, JAX
RB- Jonathan Stewart, CAR
RB- Justin Fargas, OAK
WR- Jerry Porter, JAX
WR- Jabar Gaffney, NE
Hi Jordo9,
You've got a very respectable team there and I'll break it down by position:
QB - McNabb is getting up there in age but if you were able to pick him up at a discount then I think it was a good move. He is always solid and sometimes great, so I think you're in good shape here. Garrard is a respectable backup who averaged 18.5 fantasy points per game last year, more than Bulger, Eli Manning, Kitna, and Cutler. Grade A:
RB - I think here you are very solid in your starters department. I believe both Grant and Barber will be fantasy studs this year, and I have them both ranked in the top 9. However, I think you need at least one capable backup RB and neither Stewart nor Fargas fit that bill as both will lose carries. Grade B+
WR - Edwards and Marshall are excellent picks and Crayton could be a huge sleeper if Glenn doesn't return. Your backup WRs are a bit iffy but are wildcards at this point. A-
TE - Miller struggled a bit last season but he is definitely a servicable TE. B
K/DST - Both of your selections here seem logical, although I don't place much important on these positions. A
I'd say that your top priority should be upgrade your RB corps if possible. Both of your backups will share carries, but could easily step into the start role should an injury occur. Unfortunately it looks like your roster size is small (14 players instead of the standard 15 players) so your options could be limited. One option could be to drop someone like Fargas and pick up a backup to either Barber or Grant; that way you would at least have some insurance.
If you want to create your own player rankings on an interactive, web-based cheat sheet, check out my website linked in my source list. It's free and could make your future draft much easier to prepare for.
Good luck.
